Jennifer Frew has been working in educational publishing for over 25 years. She started her publishing career at a small children’s book company that specialized in educational materials for young readers. Most recently, she worked as Editorial Director at Emergent Learning, LLC, where she hired, managed, and directed authors, editors, subject matter experts, and compositors in developing career and technical textbooks, teacher and student supplements, and digital offerings, including etexts and videos. She was responsible for handling all elements of the publishing process, from hiring authors to getting the final files to the printer or online. While working at Emergent Learning, Jennifer gained extensive experience tackling accessibility issues, making sure that digital material is accessible to all users. Prior to working at Emergent Learning, Jennifer was an Executive Editor at Pearson Prentice-Hall, where she developed many successful titles, and the Managing Editor at DDC Publishing, an independent publisher of career and technology books, where she supervised both editorial and production services. Before going into publishing, Jennifer worked as a substitute teacher for several years.
Jennifer received her BA from SUNY Purchase and her Master’s Degree in English Literature from San Francisco State University. She lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband, daughter, and cat.
